My new article with Caribbean Life News, about the virtual book discussion with David Herzberg, Helena Hansen and Julie Netherland of the Drug Policy Alliance, hosted by Haymarket Books, is out! The authors discussed their new book, “Whiteout: How Racial Capitalism Changed the Color of Opioids in America (2023).” “The master narrative that these books and articles have propagated throughout the last two and a half decades involves this play of evil pharma and unsuspecting pain. It’s a story line that concealed so much that we might say that it’s false,” Hansen said. Definitely on my TBR list! Read more here: https://www.caribbeanlife.com/new-book-reveals-evil.../ ——— Alt Text (on the site): “Books” is written at the top in the color orange. The headline of the story is written in the color black, and it states: “New book reveals evil pharma and unsuspecting pain.” My name is written underneath the headline in all capital and lowercase letters, in the color orange. It says: “Milette Millington.” Date is under that, and it says April 18, 2023. Image Description: The top image is of ‘Whiteout’ co-author David Herzberg. He is a professor of history at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). He researches the history of drugs and drug policy in America with a focus on pharmaceuticals. So many more stories on the way from me!
