Saturday afternoon and evening the I-95 corridor from Washington DC and Baltimore down to Savannah, GA could see damaging winds and isolated tornadoes with large hail. If you have outdoor activities prepare now to know where you will shelter when/if a watch is issued.

Surveys are still being completed but as of 3 pm ET Monday, at least 79 confirmed tornadoes by the NWS over the weekend. TUESDAY we have another shot at more tornadoes in areas highlighted here. Tornadoes will happen. Death doesn’t have to. We have seen 63 tornado deaths already this year — almost to the annual average (70, based on last 30 year average). Now is the time to prepare for tomorrow’s storm!
Friday March 31 tornado threat

This afternoon & evening the area in red has a 15 times greater than normal tornado threat. Tornadoes could be strong and long-track. Identify where you will shelter now. If/when you get in a tornado watch, be near the shelter so when/if a WARNING Is issued you can get in shelter immediately and survive.

We helped the UCB central Sierra snow lab do measurements after the most recent storm they’ve had a season total of 713.8” so far… 2nd snowiest since the lab started in 1946.

Saturday morning wind chills will rival coldest on record in northern Maine and New Hampshire. Frostbite possible in 5 minutes to exposed skin. This polar push is BRIEF though.
